Producer / Director
DOHA, QATAR
From 2013 - 2018 I lived with my husband and young children in Doha. I fell in love with our new home, and as the children grew older I became more involved in the musical life of the country, performing with, and joining the Board of, the Doha Community Orchestra.

I was approached by Doha College to help set up a choir competition for Primary schools - 'Qatar Primary School Choir of the Year', an event I produced for two years.

I arranged an international jury, led by Greg Beardsell, and suggested Qatari Composer, Dana Al Fardan as the competition's Ambassador. The competition was held in the ballroom of Shangri-La, Doha, and remains an annual event, which has grown in size every year.

I was subsequently asked to assist setting up the 'Qatar National Music Competition', by founders Sonja Park and Joris Laenen, for both Arabic and Western musicians. I hosted the press conference for English and Arabic news outlets; and co-hosted the Awards' Ceremony which was partially broadcast on Al Jazeera's Arabic channel.

In addition, I worked for a short period as a producer for 'The Edge Picture Company', during which time I produced a film for Weill-Cornell Medical Qatar; assisted on films for the Qatari Government, created to celebrate International Women's Day; and also worked on a film for ExxonMobil's sponsorship of the ATP (Tennis) tour to Doha.
Filming in Doha always involved a truly international crew speaking many languages - an aspect I feel lucky to have experienced and enjoyed. I would relish the opportunity to do this again.
